I did look at 2 major events this year (Brexit and the US elections). Until the date of the event the market moves in one direction and on the date it completely goes the other way. We lose pips/money on the day and recover it few days after the event.

Hence it makes sense to close our position just before the event and start with new trades after the event. As signals are reliable just after the event.

This only applies to MAJOR events that rarely have major impacts on the market. This year we only had 2. Next year we may not have any.

As a group we will decide ahead of time what our plan of action is.
